Myth: Doing just Crunches, sit-ups, other ab and core exercises burns belly fat.
Reality: There is no “target training” that works for burning the body fat over a body part. Body fat is stored and burned due to our genetics. Whenever we store body fat first will be the last fat to be burned off as we get in shape.
Our abs workouts DO build muscle and strength, which is extremely important to protect our spine when we do any exercise. A strong core allows us to build stronger legs, arms, back, chest and of course our butt. Building full body strength creates more lean muscle, increases our metabolism, which then yes.... burns off the fat you’re wanting to lose.
